Celebrating Love?

As the whole world knows, today, 14 February is Valentine's day.  Would not go into the details of it's origin but  it was in remembrance of a sacrificial love.

Today it has become so commercialised that Valentine's day means giving away love cards, red roses that once cost a ringgit per stem to ten ringgit per stem; and people still buy it!, chocolates and teddy bears.  Those who received this things from their loved ones will be grinning from ear to ear.  Those who do not, huhu...can sulk the whole day.

But fear not, for those who think they are forgotten take heart; it could be due to the following:

1. Your partner thinks its not practical to spend money on roses only to see it wilt and become dry flowers the next day.  Not to mention the chocolates will make you fat and teddy bears are reserved for kids. Lucky you, if he thought of buying you a car instead!

2.  He's not the romantic kind (like papa tupai) and can't even remember his own kids birthdays, let alone Valentine's day.

3.  He thinks, its only for Mat Sallehs.

But, look at this way, he loves you (in his own special way; its proven, men are not good at expressing love because they are from Mars..ha.ha.ha), he provides for you,  he is a responsible father and most of all he is faithful to you.  Now isn't that a better gift than flowers, chocolates and teddy bears which are here today and gone tommorow?

Let's not forget, we have received the greatest love gift of all; when Christ died for our sins and we are forgiven.  Let's make today as a day to celebrate that greatest love of all.

What did I get today?  Nothing, but I know love is in the air.
